Summary

A religious denomination that garnered followers throughout the land of Patria. Aletheianism is the most widespread denomination in the powerful country of Gracia, in the Old World, and since Gracia is the ancestral homeland of a majority of Patrians, it is likewise dominant in Patria as well. Its scriptures begin with God descending to the world of witless men, granting wisdom and teaching discipline, followed by the arrival of paradise, the ascension of God to heaven, and finally a prophecy of a second coming of God. Church doctrine holds that the meaning of human existence is to proclaim and follow the wisdom and disciplines left by God, and that the world will end when this is not fulfilled.

Its tenets tend to promote maintaining the social order, prohibiting theft, violence, lying and adultery, and so the faith rarely faced oppression from the ruling class in the course of its history. Worship is held at local churches once a week; this is not specified by the scriptures, but plays an important role in community cohesion and conversion of new followers. The headquarters of the Aletheian Church is in the capital of Gracia, with deep connections and strong influence with the government there, but has little sway with the Patrian branch of the Aletheian Church differs in its interpretation of the scriptures and has a history of being branded heretical by the Church in the Old World.
