Beatrice told Schaal who approaches to her that she once a homeless child in the slums until a reverend discovered her singing ability and recommended her to work as a singer in a bar, but now she can no longer sing on the bar's stage. Schaal comforts Beatrice and reveals to her that she is the daughter of her comrade William. Schaal said her father was unable to speak after returning from the battlefield, but she knew that her father retained a gentle heart even though he became an Incarnate. Schaal told Beatrice that if she was eager to sing then let her listen to her singing, just as she used to sing for the patrons who came to the bar.

At this time, Claude appeared with four soldiers from "The Coup de Grace troop" and ordered his men to point their rifles at Beatrice and fired her. Although Beatrice immediately resisted, she was still get multiple shot several times by Claude's men. Schaal rushes over to comfort Beatrice. Beatrice starts to sing and Schaal tells the Claude's men, who are aiming their guns at Beatrice, that this is a different song and to let her sing. As Beatrice sings, the images of the past start to develop as a facade around her. Once the song was over, Beatrice collapses to the ground. Schaal runs over and holds her in her arms. Schaal asked Beatrice her name, and Beatrice told Schaal her real name and the name she was called Trice when she was in the Incarnate troop, she smiled and gave her last breath and passed away peacefully in Schaal's arms.

The next day, Port Gulf's residents gaze upon Beatrice's corpse and express their sympathy for her, questioning whether their fear of war caused Beatrice to change. Schaal questioned whether the conflict caused by people's fear and resentment of incarnates was any different from ordinary extermination of pests. Claude explains that "The Coup de Grace troop" was established to prevent this kind of thing from happening, and their approach to hunting Incarnate is different from Hank's. Claude tells Schaal that while he doesn't repremand her for getting in their way of their dealing with Beatrice, and doesn't know if Schaal will support Hank. But if his troop once found Hank, they would kill him. Moreover, he warned her that if the next time she does that try to stop them, he will shoot through and kill her.
