Reunion 1 (Reunion (Pt. 1)) is the twentieth chapter of To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts.
Summary[]
As Hank and Roy began to fight each other to a draw, both used their claws to inflict heavy damage on each other. Hank bites off part of Roy's left shoulder, injuring him, and tries to find an opportunity to give him a fatal blow. Gerald watched Hank and Roy fight, and after a soldier from The Coup de Grace troop reported that the soldiers were ready behind the woods, they decided to wait until one of the Incarnates was completely unable to fight before attacking the other Incarnate. Schaal, who was stay next to Gerald, was worried about Hank's safety.
At this time, Hank pushed Roy to the ground and planned to attack him by the throat, but Roy immediately grabbed Hank's mouth with his right hand and bit his throat, then he beat Hank toward to the edge of a nearby chasm cliff at the cost of his left eye. Roy tells Hank, who is lying on the ground, that he come with them. Hank tells Roy that the war is over. Seeing Hank plummet into chasm and disappears into the darkness, Schaal decided to look for Hank with Gerald's concern. Gerald ordered the soldiers to keep shooting at Roy, but Roy attacked them unyieldingly.
Deep under the cliff, Hank ended up going over a cliff and down the ground, he looked at his situation in desperately, he noticed that his power would disappear when the sun rise, but he thought to himself that he had fulfilled the promise he made to Elaine. Hank continues to have hallucinations of all of his fallen comrades, when he's met with a familiar face and a voice which call him, Hank sees Schaal coming to found him and feels ironic for mistaking her for Elaine before he was coma. After found Hank who was fall in coma, Schaal was on who take Hank and treated his wounds inside a cave, while the men above hunted Roy. When Hank wakes on the cave, and saw Schaal near him to prepare a hot tea to give him, which was shocked him , but he is relieved that she is still alive even he doesn't know how Schaal was flees the Whitechurch incident.
During the conversation, Schaal tells him about the incident with her father, which surprises Hank as he thought that he had killed him. Schaal then proceeds to tell him that she now understands how he must have felt when he shot her father and his other comrades. Hank, on the other hand, confided in Schaal as to if what he is doing is actually saving his comrades or just killing his friends, he asked Schaal if she forgive him for killing his many comrades, would his comrades will forgive him and rest in peace. On the other side, among the trees, Roy tried to escape but everywhere he hid The Coup de Grace troop's soldiers will found him and attacked. If the he could be found by them, then the only option he had was to go on the offensive and kill them. Therefore, Roy managed to wipe out many of The Coup de Grace troop's soldiers.
