History[]

Past[]

Elizabeth is a young woman who living in the North and is good at proficient in weaving, her parents who died young and only left her with many needlework skills and a sewing workshop. Although Elizabeth repeats the same thing every day in the workshop, but she don't care about what happened next. Whenever Elizabeth saw many passers-by wearing beautiful clothes woven with her own needlework, she felt a little comfort in her heart.

Until the outbreak of the war, the supply of textile materials (cotton) in the south was interrupted, making many clothes were unsaleable. Elizabeth knew she had no choice but to sell her body, so she chose prostitution to make a living. Later, Elizabeth knew that the people who spent money on her were sadistic and had twisted desires, she was lucky to have a place to stay, even if it was just a painful job.

Once, after Elizabeth "served" a Northern Army soldier who spent money on herself, the soldier told Elizabeth a rumor about the Incarnate aptitude exam and planned to invite her to take the test. At that time, the Northern government was forming " Incarnate troop" to end the war, and because the superior officers had to gather the numbers, the soldier also mentioned that the conditions for joining the army were not strict. Elizabeth felt that even though it wouldn't change anything, she felt needed and was a little swayed to participate in the project. As a result, Elizabeth was found to have a special aptitude, so she became the Incarnate and use under the pseudonym "Arachne" to joined the troop.

Although Elizabeth faces the cost of losing her human body and discovers the cruel side of the battlefield, it is enough for her to have a place to stay and a reason to continue fighting. In addition, she soon discovers that the so-called invincible and invincible Incarnate troops are the members are all people who came from poor backgrounds, kept secrets, and were forced to go to the battlefield. Elizabeth understood that those who went to the battlefield or lost their lives were all weak and powerless, and the officers and wealthy people outside regarded all the Incarnates as a weapon and paid no attention to them who was thrown into the war. Because of her own experience, Elizabeth is not good at dealing with others. Although she has a good relationship with her teammates, she prefers to be alone and weave fabrics with spider silk.

Later, Elizabeth discovered that Cain , who grew up in a wealthy family but changed his name to "Madhouse" and voluntarily became an Incarnate, was paying attention to her and others' situation. She heard that Cain was the son of President Richard Withers but chose to become an Incarnate. Elizabeth saw Cain's pity look on several occasions, and she doubted whether he would abandon the Incarnates and leave. Once, Elizabeth asked Cain why he gave up everything he owned but chose to become an Incarnate. Cain explained that he thought the Incarnate 's fighting posture for survival was quite beautiful. They followed those on the battlefield or elsewhere in pursuit of survival. There is a difference between those who fight and those who seek the power to kill. After listening to Cain's explanation, Elizabeth seemed to feel that only he could bring comfort and salvation to her.

Later, the Incarnate troop helped the Northern Army win many victories over the Southern Army, but not without the cost of sacrifice. Elizabeth was not known for her ability to see miracles during the battle to retake Fort Locabe. After witnessing the tragic scene of Cockatrice Incarnate, who fought with her to the end but lost the life, She wondered if the Incarnates were really immortal, and there were gods or miracles in the world, why would the Incarnates have to either be surrounded or die in agony, even though some of them were killed in the battle? Even so, what's the point if some of them survive the battle. After the battle, Elizabeth noticed that there were only a few people left in the team who could fight. Everyone on the team was covered in wounds and had lost confidence and hoped that the war would end soon.

Cain discovered that Elizabeth could weave the weaving method of southern Gracia, a neighboring country. He explained that he had read many books and knew Elizabeth's weaving method and praised her for having such an excellent ability. Cain told Elizabeth that she should be proud of her ability, and thought that her posture was beautiful in both her Incarnate and human forms. Elizabeth discovered that everyone on the team was burdened with the sad past of the dark side, but Cain was able to contact them openly and even had a knowledgeable and considerate heart. She felt that she did not feel any discrimination or contempt when getting along with Cain and feeling attracted to him at the same time. Elizabeth also heard that Cain and Hank Henriette, the captain of the Incarnate troop, and Dr. Elaine Bluelake, who created Incarnate, were are the best friends. She felt that the existence of Hank and Dr. Bluelake was an opportunity for Cain to volunteer to become an Incarnate, and she also felt that he not just to be with them. Elizabeth knew that Cain had never looked at her but still wanted to support him. Later, Cain, Hank, and Dr. Bluelake suddenly disappeared the day before the war was about to end. No one on the team knew where they were. The members of the Incarnate troop were regarded as heroes by the people and received a lot of welcome. Elizabeth knew that no one wanted the Incarnates to stay in the army. The outside world believed that the Incarnates did not need to stay in a peaceful world to fight, and it was enough for them to live their lives with the rewards provided by the government for participating in the war.

Elizabeth knew that this was just the beginning. As she had nowhere to go, she used her retirement allowance to rent a small workshop and wanted to return to her previous life. However, she understood that what happened later would not bring her and everyone else a happy life even change all everything. Because people outside are afraid of her Incarnate form and there are rumors that she is weaving with murderous silk, and the Incarnate form reminds people of turbulent war. More importantly, it is difficult for all Incarnates to be accommodated in a peaceful world, which makes Elizabeth feel deeply desperate. Later, Cain's appearance once again saved Elizabeth and other Incarnates who were in a painful situation with her. Cain gave them many places to live and reasons to fight, and he also tried to respond to those who had been humiliated and regretfully defeated. Elizabeth would follow Cain's orders, whether it was to kill someone or not. She knew that Cain's decision to save his Incarnate comrades might cause disagreements and conflicts with Hank, who had once been on good terms with him. She also understood that once she stood in Cain's camp, she would only be killed, but even so, she still chose to support and accompany Cain until the last minute.

Whitechurch and Bold Creek[]

When Cain confronts Hank in the church of Whitechurch. Elizabeth appears behind Nancy Schaal Bancroft who follow Hank and remarking her about how Cain is special until she abducts her. The next day, she cofronts Nancy and says there's no needed to be scared. As Schaal refuses, she asks why she was travelling with Hank. As Schaal introduces herself, Elizabeth begins to understand, she then calls Schaal cute and destory her clothes, Elizabeth promise Schaal she won't eat her and let her to see Hank. Later that night, when Schaal meets Hank during the gala. Elizabeth pulls Schaal towards her using the threads in her dress and watches as Cain shoots her.[1]However, Elizabeth secretly used her silk thread ability to weave an evening dress for Schaal, allowing her to avoid being hurt by the shoot.
