"The King of the Beasts" is the 6th episode of the To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts anime.
Summary[]
Hank, who won the battle with the Incarnate gargoyle but was injured and comatose due to Cain's conspiracy, dreamed that Schaal fell to the ground like Elaine who was shot by Cain. When he woke up, he was already in the hotel room. Andy was relieved to find that Hank was awake, but he was worried about Schaal's safety and situation. He asked Hank if he was also one of the church's monsters and said he had to do something. Hank promised Andy that he would bring Schaal back as soon as possible. Hank decided to accept Cain's invitation and came to the place assigned to him by Cain. Meanwhile, Miglieglia became interested in Schaal's eyes soon after looking at her. Originally, Miglieglia wanted to take Schaal's eyes, but stopped because of Elizabeth's appearance. After Elizabeth learns her true identity from Schaal's confession, she is also confused and interested in Schaal following Hank. As Elizabeth rips off Schaal's clothes, she says she won't do anything to Schaal and promises to return her to Hank.
Meanwhile, Claude, Liza and Gerald examine a series of corpses left behind by the Incarnate gargoyles, but they discover that a nobleman and his wife were murdered by Cain, so they decide to head to the manor to capture Cain. That night, Hank entered the manor and found a large number of well-dressed nobles invited by Cain, from the Confederacy, and whose wealth had been taken away by the war. At this time, Cain appeared from a high place and addressed everyone. He said that Incarnate was also an existence created by the northerners who longed for victory but was abandoned and ordered to be destroyed. Cain gathered a large group of Incarnates and declared that they should continue the unfinished war to get back everything they deserved, but he claimed that they no longer needed to be useful to humans. All the Incarnates who were slaughtering the guests stopped and confronted Hank when he started attacking one of the Incarnate.
Cain explains to Hank say they Incarnates, should never follow Elaine's belief that they will eventually lose their humanity and should be executed, and he further explains the reason why all Incarnate were loses their humanity is caused by human beings' distorted ideas and negative perceptions, so they will "live as they please" to eliminate the "obstacles" that block them. Later, Coup de Grace troops broke into the venue, killed and subdued several Incarnates. Cain asks if Claude can really defeat him by confronting him. At this time, Incarnate Centaur and Garmr, who had joined Cain early, jumped in front of Claude. Claude was rescued by Hank because he was outnumbered, and Hank could not get close to Cain. Cloud shoots Cain from a distance to no avail, but Hank gets closer and detonates the explosive by stabbing Cain in the face with his spear. But even though Cain was exploded, he was completely regenerated by the power of his incarnation.
Cain asks Hank to join him, but Hank quickly rejects Cain, so Cain asks Elizabeth to take Schaal out. Cain shoots Schaal and says he wants to "liberate" and destroy the "chains" that "bind" Hank. Hank is initially blocked by Centaur and Garmr, but transforms into a werewolf and pushes them away, However, he is stopped by Elizabeth's line. Hank went berserk when he saw Schaal fall down like Elaine, and Cain "guided" Hank to release his "nature" while tearing off " the Chains of Gleipnir" that "bond" him. Hank's werewolf form grew and transformed into a giant, glowing wolf that could not be contained in the manor and destroyed an entire roof enough to crush Incarnate Karkinos beneath its feet. He jumped to the town of Whitechurch and landed between the buildings. Cain told Claude and Gerald that he said that Hank's form was "The King of the Beasts" , which could not be controlled and tamed by humans around the world. Claude and Gerald were shocked and were affected and fell into a coma. Later, Claude wakes up in a military hospital. He and Liza discovered that a huge canyon had been cut into the middle of Whitechurch. More importantly, both Hank and Cain were missing after last night. When Liza discovered that Schaal was also in a coma like Gerald, she began to feel very worried and uneasy about Hank's whereabouts.

Anime Differences[]
- A conversation between Hank and Liza about Cain's invitation was deleted. Instead, a short conversation between Hank and Andy was added. This was not in the manga.
- A flashback of a conversation between Hank and John was deleted.
- In the anime, Schaal was initially tied to a chair by silk threads, and later Elizabeth smashed the silk thread with her claws. This scene is not displayed in the mamga.
- In the manga, Schaal sat on the sofa when facing Elizabeth, and the anime was sitting on a chair.
- In the anime, Miglieglia was added into the conversation with Schaal and Elizabeth, in the manga, she doesn't appear in the conversation.
- In the anime, Schaal faced Elizabeth to break her clothes with her claws. It tried to stop it. In the manga was changed to Schaal to see Elizabeth damaged her clothes with her claws before she responded.
- In the manga, Schaal faced Elizabeth with a shpcked expression when she damaged her clothes with her claws.
- In the manga, when Elisabeth uses her right hand when speaking to lift the jaw of Schaal's face, Miglieglia was not next to her. In the anime, it was added that she was also present.
- Behind the scenes where Claude and Coup de Grace investigate the aftermath of the Whitechurch's church was added. This didn't happen in the manga.
- Since the conversation between Hank and Liza was deleted, their plan and dressing up into the banquet venue was deleted. Instead in the anime, Hank enters the party alone and he keep wear his troop uniform and bring his weapon.
