Summary[]

The President ordered all the Incarnates to be eliminated within three months. Cain seemed to be preparing for his move by building a fort at Bold Creek .

Coup de Grace stand the Port Gulf and waited on the beach for supplies to arrive and also prepared to purchase their items. While Schaal was thinking about Hank while on the beach, she heard a mysterious singing voice. Later, Schaal discovers the incarnation of the Incarnate Siren,Trice, in a cave by the sea. At this time, a man named Charles ordered Schaal to leave the cave at gunpoint, but Trice told Charles not to be rude to Schaal. Charles warns Trice that she had better not sing because the people in town are looking for her.

Schaal tells Tris what happened to her father. Charles apologized to Schaal, saying that he had to hide Trice because there was a bounty on her head. Trice revealed her past as a singer, but with the war, she decided to become an Incarnate so that people could listen to her singing again. By the time the war ended, Trice discovered that no one wanted to hear her sing more because of her inevitable Incarnate.Schaal feels sympathy for Trice, so she continues to visit Trice to bring gifts and talk to him and learn about Hank's secrets and past. When Schaal was on her way back, Claude warned Schaal not to walk alone, because people were deeply afraid of war and would do crazy things at any time. He added that he not only wanted to kill all the Incarnates that harmed the world, but also defeated his brother Cain, Schaal was deeply surprised by this incident.

Charles plays the piano alone in the tavern and recalls the time when Trice was a singer for him, but encounters several men in town with rifles who ask him if he is hiding Trice. Trice hears Charles come in and say she plans to leave town until people can accept her again, only to find him shot to death in a skirmish. Before Charles died, he begged Trice not to blame the townspeople because they were too afraid of the harm caused by the war.Trice later went to town and used her singing to put people to sleep so they would never have to fear war again. When Lisa, Claude, and Sal discovered Trice's behavior and told her that what she was doing was wrong, Trice woke up, but Claude shot and wounded her. He stabbed him in the leg to stay sane. She flew onto the stage at Charles Bar. Schaal was deeply sympathetic after learning of Trice's plight. She did not think Trice was a monster, so she asked to be allowed to sing. At this time, Claude ordered his troops to shoot Trice down. Schaal asked Claude to let Trice sing the last song and explained that Trice's song would not bring danger. Trice finished singing her song at Schaal's request. Schaal told Trice that her song was beautiful and nice. Trice passed away peacefully shortly after Schaal praised her song.

Afterwards, Coup de Grace prepares to leave the beach of Port Gulf. Cloud told Schaal that he would shoot Schaal if she stopped him from wielding the Incarnates. He added that his troops had found traces of Hank deep in the snowy mountains of the Great Mountains. Although Claude did not understand Schaal's decision not to shoot Trice, Schaal explained to Claude that she wanted to save Trice and Hank no matter what, even if she sacrificed herself to help and protect Hank. On the other hand, Hank, who disappeared during the destruction of Whitechurch, appears in the snowy mountains to fulfill their oath in the face of a few Incarnate of the scouts who had just raided the Coup de Grace. But when Hank remembers the damage he caused to the Whitechurch as the King of Beasts, he can only use explosives to kill the Incarnate who was fighting him. After Hank left, Incarnate Garm found his trace.
