H&B Polestar, A divisive yet legendary gun. It is Hank Henriette's favorite revolver and the weapon he uses to deal with Incarnates.

Summary

A unique handgun that can use two different types of ammunition. The Polestar has a cylinder that holds nine bullets. It also has a second barrel along the cylinder axis that can be loaded with a single large-caliber round. There is a mechanism built into the hammer that can be operated to switch between the two.

In terms of large-caliber ammunition, shotgun shells are most commonly used for emergency self-defense, but many other kinds of ammunition are utilized as well. Quick switching between the modes requires experience, and with unusual break-action reloading mechanism, there have been several recorded accidents resulting from unintended firing. Still, the gun's flexibility has made it popular in Patria's dangerous South and harsh West. Even in the North, some among the military have been reputed to favor it, although it was never officially adopted.

Prototype

• H&B Polestar is based on the S&W Schofield design and features a 10-round cylinder and underbody shotgun barrel, just like the LeMat Hybrid Revolver.
